I have those old headphones on my head, mum says I look like I'm in the "telephone exchange"; listening to the Mountain Goats. His voice has that raw quality that sits perfectly with loudly strummed acoustic chords. And you have to play them loud in your ears so his voice bursts right through and out your eyes. And I appreciate their dedication: "Dedicated to any young men and women anywhere who live with people who abuse them, with the following good news: you are going to make it out of there alive, you will live to tell your story, never lose hope." So I transferred into the straight Development Studies course to get me through to the end of the year. Instead of 4 Health Science subjects this semester, it's now Anthropology, Politics, Asian Studies and Beginners Spanish. Don't laugh at that last one, I heard you! So in some other useful words of the Mountain Goats, "I am gonna make it through this year if it kills me". Somehow I don't think they were referring to a remotely similar situation. Next year though, jeepers. I have a meeting on Wednesday with one of the Admin women from Humanities and Social Sciences. Not sure what she'll ask me...hopefully not what I'm expecting to do with the course...if so I think I'll ask her if you can possibly end up focusing the course on Indigenous health in Aus. Mmmm, something to somehow make me feel how I can help in some way. Hmmm, 'way'. Maybe I should have done nursing. *Sigh*. *I listen to Dance...Music. Dance...Music* Love Phil's ring tone, a guy in a pommy accent yells "Oi! Answer the phone dickhead!" Or something along those lines. I am so buying the Little Britain dvd(s) tomorrow, laughter fills mountanous voids. Mid year resolution time world: 1) Try not to think, or worry atleast, about future employment. Just let it fall into some sort of place. 2) Don't touch face. Ever. 3) Drink lotsa water. 4) Keep on top of Uni work and world affairs. 5) Look out for great gigs...and go. 

Five is plenty, tops. Hope all is well out there across the rain/roads/water/paddocks/over the treetops/gliding, straight over the treetops/jesus I wanna glide right over the treetops at that speed that makes you feel like your flying/you know that dream, the one where you're flying and it feels fucking awesome/I want a budgie, one that nibbles and talks in my ear like Aqua did/title for my next hit song: like Aqua did/that was some budgie, I don't care how small their brains are, he was a charmer/oh, there's that strumming...     

I wonder if John Howard knows how he looks, standing up there next to his schoolyard ally. One speaks with a painful arrogance; the other echos him, irritatingly stumbling over his words. Ho Hum.
